MEET ADAM STEEN.
ROOTED IN IOWA VALUES
Adam Steen grew up in Indianola, Iowa, where his parents taught him the importance of faith, hard work, and serving others. His father often helped local businesses at no charge, believing that when neighbors succeed, the entire community prospers. That lesson shaped Adam’s life and continues to guide his passion for service today.
FROM THE MOUND TO MAIN STREET
Adam earned a college baseball scholarship and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies. When his professional baseball career ended, Adam brought the same grit and determination back home to Iowa. Instead of competing on the mound, he set out to build businesses, create opportunities, and strengthen his community.
FAITH, FAMILY, & PERSEVERANCE
For years, Adam chased success without the right foundation. When life challenged him to re-examine his path, he chose to give his life to Christ, a decision that transformed his future. Soon after, he met his wife, Kasey, in a coffee shop in Clive. Today, Adam and Kasey are raising two boys, Ryker and Maverick.
When Ryker was diagnosed with Joubert Syndrome, doctors said he may never walk or talk. Through faith, prayer, and perseverance, Ryker does both. His story is a daily reminder of the strength that comes from faith and family, and it fuels Adam’s commitment to fight for Iowa families.

ENTREPRENEUR & BUSINESS BUILDER
Adam partnered with a high school friend to launch The Turkey Fan, a groundbreaking turkey decoy company. They wanted to manufacture in Iowa, but America’s weakened manufacturing industry forced them to source overseas. That experience deepened Adam’s resolve to fight for jobs and bring opportunity back to Iowa.
Adam’s business experience also includes helping grow a financial planning firm, where he worked side by side with Iowa families to create stability and security for their future.
SERVICE IN STATE GOVERNMENT
Adam’s business leadership caught the attention of the Governor’s office, which recruited him to serve as Director at the Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS). Over five years, Adam was confirmed twice by the Iowa Senate, including a unanimous 50–0 vote. At DAS, he cut waste, streamlined processes, and delivered projects on time while never losing sight of the government’s responsibility to serve the taxpayer.
READY TO LEAD ON DAY ONE.
